Full-Stack Engineer

Summary

The Full Stack Engineer at Jaycon Systems LLC is responsible for maintaining, stabilizing, and enhancing internal and client-facing software platforms, including live production systems. This role focuses primarily on identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues while contributing to feature development and platform improvements. The Full Stack Engineer collaborates cross-functionally with developers, project stakeholders, and leadership to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performing solutions in a fast-paced environment. This position requires strong ownership, technical expertise across the full technology stack, and the ability to communicate effectively while balancing stability and feature delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production bugs, defects, and system issues in live environments.
2. Monitor, triage, and prioritize incoming technical issues to minimize operational and user impact.
3. Develop, test, and deploy scalable frontend and backend features aligned with business and project needs.
4. Collaborate closely with developers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver fast-turnaround solutions and implementations.
5. Maintain and improve platform stability, performance, and reliability through proactive debugging and optimization.
6. Build and maintain frontend applications using React and backend services using Node.js/Express.
7. Design, manage, and optimize database structures and integrations using MongoDB.
8. Support cloud-based infrastructure, deployments, and services within AWS environments.
9. Utilize GitLab for source control, CI/CD workflows, versioning, and deployment management.
10. Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency, troubleshooting, and code quality.
11. Document technical fixes, updates, workflows, and known issues for internal reference.
12. Communicate project updates, blockers, timelines, and issue status clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
13. Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
14. Ensure software solutions align with company quality, security, and operational standards.

Necessary Skills & Knowledge

1. Strong proficiency in frontend development using React.
2. Strong backend development experience with Node.js and Express.js.
3. Experience with MongoDB database management and optimization.
4. Knowledge of AWS cloud services, deployments, and infrastructure management.
5. Proficiency using GitLab for version control and CI/CD workflows.
6. Advanced debugging, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution skills.
7. Understanding of live production system maintenance and stability practices.
8. Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools and workflows.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in fast-paced environments.

Requirements

1. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in full stack software development.
2. Proven experience with React, Node.js/Express, MongoDB, AWS, and GitLab.
3. Demonstrated experience working in live production environments.
4. Strong experience diagnosing and resolving production issues efficiently.
5. Experience in fast-paced software development environments with shifting priorities.
6. Experience using AI-assisted development tools as part of daily workflows.
7. Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
8. Ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting deadlines and priorities.
9. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
